As the young Seasiders prepare to come up against Walsall for the first time this season at the weekend, Littler is also preparing to be back in action.
He said: “It’s been difficult not playing; however, I’ve had a great rehab programme and been in the gym every day. The physios have helped me out a lot while I’ve been out.
“I’m just really looking forward to being part of the squad again.”
Littler said it has been tough watching on from the sidelines, but he has enjoyed the different perspective.
“Watching the games from the sideline has been tough but also enjoyable as I can see the game through a different perspective,” said Littler.
The midfielder will be back in the matchday squad against Walsall, and this is something the youngster cannot wait for.
He added, “To get as many minutes as I can between now and the end of the season will end it on a high for me.
“Unfortunately, injuries are part of the game. You just have to be as positive as you can, work hard to get back fit, and there will be more opportunities which you can take.”
Littler knows that his absence is just part and parcel of being a footballer and it is clearly something the 16-year-old doesn’t let affect his game.
Looking ahead to the rest of the season, Littler and his teammates have a Lancashire Cup final against Rochdale to look ahead to, and the midfielder gave his thoughts on that.
He said, “the excitement levels are really high. To reach a cup final is brilliant and is testament to all the hard work put in from the boys.”
