Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce CJ Hamilton has signed an extended contract at Bloomfield Road, keeping him at the Club until at least June 2026.
Hamilton, 28, is now one of the Club's longest serving players, having originally signed for Pool back in the summer of 2020. Since then, the pacey wideman has made over a century of appearances in Tangerine, both in League One and the Championship, scoring 11 goals and creating numerous assists across the two divisions.
Hamilton's impressive performances for Blackpool caught the eye at international level last year, with the winger representing Republic of Ireland in their UEFA Nations League match with Ukraine back in June 2022.
Focusing on the current season, CJ is currently joint-top of the assists chart in League One, and has found the back of the net twice, including one in last month's memorable 4-0 win at Portsmouth. He joins Olly Casey in signing an extended contract on the Fylde Coast, with the Club also holding an option for a further 12 months in his contract.
On signing his new deal, Hamilton said:
"I'm buzzing to get this done and to be staying here for the next few years," he said.
"I love everything about this Club and what it represents. Everyone here - the fans, the players, the staff, they're all great and I've always enjoyed my time here.
"I think I've really grown as a player since I first joined the Club, both on and off the field. I'm coming to an age now where I'm one of the more experienced players in the dressing room and I think it's up to me to be one of those that takes charge and help the rest of the players when they need it.
"I can't wait to continue building on my time here and hopefully we can all have a successful season."
