Blackpool Football Club is pleased to announce the loan signing of Morgan Rogers from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
The England youth international, 20, arrives at Bloomfield Road for the remainder of the season, having previously played under Michael Appleton at Lincoln City.
During his time with the Imps, Rogers scored six goals in 28 appearances, won the EFL Young Player of the Month award and helped the club reach the Sky Bet League One play-off final.
A dynamic, exciting winger that the Seasiders have held a long-standing interest in, he has previously gained Championship experience with AFC Bournemouth.
On joining Blackpool, Morgan Rogers said:
“The Club has been interested in me for a while now and I really can’t wait to get playing. I’ve worked with the gaffer previously and this move goes hand-in-hand.
“The fans here are great and I’m looking forward to playing in front of them and showing them what I’m about. I’m a player who likes to get the crowd off their feet, I like to be free and expressive with the way that I play. I just want to show what I’m capable of now.”
Michael Appleton added:
“Morgan is a player I know very well from the time I worked with him at Lincoln. The quality that he’s got will be there for everybody to see. He’s got a physical presence, he scores goals and he gets assists. The fact he knows how I want to play and how I do things is a bonus.”
