Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Kyle Joseph from Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.

A player sought-after by several Clubs for a number of years, Joseph is a highly-rated prospect in the Football League. Having come through the ranks at Wigan Athletic before making his full first-team debut against Blackpool in November 2020, the forward enjoyed a successful loan at Oxford United last season, making 41 appearances across all competitions.

Despite being just 21, Joseph is already closing in on 100 career appearances in the EFL, having also represented Scotland at youth team level.

On signing for Blackpool, Kyle Joseph said:

“This is a move I was really keen on getting done and I’m so pleased to be here.

“The Head Coach made it clear to me how much he wanted me to come here. With such an exciting project here at the Club as well, it feels like a really good fit.

“I want to progress further and help this Club succeed, so I can’t wait to get started.”

Head Coach Neil Critchley said:

“I’ve known Kyle since he was part of Wigan’s youth team. He’s a player the Club have tracked for a long time and we’re delighted to finally bring him here.

“He’s had a couple of successful loans in this division and we believe he is a player with a high ceiling who we can develop. We want to provide him with the right environment and the right coaching for him to showcase his ability.

“He’s an all-action centre forward who suits how we want to play and from speaking to him, his character will fit in well with the group we already have. He’s hungry, ambitious and is striving to constantly improve which fits the Club’s identity and is what we want from any new addition.”
