Blackpool hosted Plymouth Argyle in a behind closed doors friendly on Saturday, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat against the Sky Bet Championship newcomers.
First half goals from Mikel Miller and Ryan Hardie put the visitors in the lead at the half-way stage before Shayne Lavery found the net from the penalty spot in the second 45 minutes.
Fresh from a week at a training camp in Ireland, a first half XI including the likes of Matty Virtue, Ollie Norburn and Jake Beesley were looking to impose themselves on the game.
It was, however, Plymouth who took a commanding lead with two quick-fire goals just before the half hour mark after very little was between the two sides before that.
The first from Mikel Miller, who curled a great effort into the far corner from around 20 yards out despite Dan Grimshaw's best efforts.
The second came just two minutes later. A lapse in concentration at the back saw Miller win possession high up the pitch for Plymouth, before squaring it to former Seasider Ryan Hardie, who was able to calmly slot the ball into the back of the net.
Andy Lyons hit the post with a glancing header from a cross into the box late on, but it was Plymouth who took their two goal lead into the break.

Just as he did at Southport last week, Neil Critchley fielded an entirely different XI in the second half to give game-time to as many members of his squad as possible.
Shayne Lavery and Rob Apter were the striking duo up top, and were causing the visitors a fair few problems. The Seasiders halved the deficit just before the hour mark, with Dom Thompson brought down in the penalty area.
Shayne Lavery was the man to take the spot kick, sending the 'keeper the wrong way and making it 2-1 with half an hour to play.
Pool were the better of the two sides in the second 45 minutes, with Oliver Casey and Sonny Carey coming close from set-pieces, with the latter also stinging the palms of Plymouth's goalkeeper late on with a powerful effort, but Plymouth hung on and took the spoils in Pool's second friendly of the pre-season campaign.
