Blackpool exited the FA Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest despite coming from 2-0 to send the third-round replay to extra-time at Bloomfield Road.
Pool found themselves one down at the break due to a 16th minute strike by Andrew Omobamidele before going further behind a minute into the second-half when Danilo slotted home following a defensive error by the Seasiders.
The Seasiders responded strongly getting one back through inform Albie Morgan before levelling the game up thanks to a Kyle Joseph header.
Pool couldn’t complete the comeback though as Chris Wood scored in the second-half of extra-time to send Forest through to the next round of the FA Cup.
Fresh from his brace on the weekend against Exeter City, Morgan had an early volley opportunity from the edge of the box, but the midfielder dragged his effort just wide of the near post.
The visitors had their first sight of goal in the 5th minute when Murillo powered a header towards the bottom corner from a Nuno Tavares corner, but Daniel Grimshaw was on hand to tip it round the post for Pool.
It was a corner which brought the opening goal in the 16th minute when Omobamidele volleyed home for Forest at the back following a flick on at the front post.
Pool grew into the game after going behind with James Husband, Andy Lyons and Callum Connolly all putting in dangerous deliveries in the following 20 minutes of the game.
Forest’ set piece deliveries continued to cause chaos for Pool’s defence and in the 44th minute when Tavares’ initial corner was cleared by CJ Hamilton, Nicolas Dominguez fired over the bar on the volley.
The Seasiders went straight up the other end with Marvin Ekpiteta sweeping an effort just wide of the far post from a tight angle.

Pool made the worst possible start to the second-half with Danilo firing into an empty net in the 46th minute after Morgan sold Grimshaw short leading to the goalkeeper having to rush out and parry an effort, which eventually went Danilo, who passed it into the net despite the best efforts of Connolly on the line.
The weekend’s hero Morgan got one back for Pool in the 61st minute with another wonderful effort on the volley from the edge of the box after a Hamilton delivery was cleared into his path. The midfielder despite leaning back rifled it into the top corner.
Forest tried to respond on the break minutes later when Wood raced away before feeding Neco Williams, who shot on goal but substitute keeper Richard O’Donnell was on hand to parry the effort.
Neil Critchley made a triple change with twenty minutes to go bringing on Karamoko Dembele, Shayne Lavery and Joseph as Pool tried to turn the screw on their Premier League opponents.
It was one of those changes which levelled things up on the night as Joseph rose highest at the back post to nod in a delivery from Lyons. The left wing-back done brilliantly to get to the byline and clip the delivery in before Joseph showed strength to beat his man at the back post.
Pool had a claim for a penalty in the 84th minute waived away when Jordan Gabriel raced into the Forest box before Dembele fizzed a ball across the six yard box. Unfortunately for Pool there was no one in a tangerine shirt there to tap it home.
In the ninth minute of added time Dembele went clean through on goal from a long punt up the field by Husband, but after rounding the keeper his shot was blocked on the line by Orel Mangala.
The side’s ended the 90 minutes on level terms meaning they would have to play another 30 minutes to decide who went through in the third round tie.

Three minutes into extra time Dominguez struck wide for the visitors after another corner delivery wasn’t cleared far enough by Pool.
Forest went close minutes later when Danilo found space in the box to turn and strike but the Brazilian’s effort was well saved by O’Donnell in the Pool goal.
In the 101st minute Lavery collected the ball outside the box and drove at Omobamidele before striking on goal, but his effort deflected off the defender and away for a corner.
Minutes later Ryan Yates blasted over the bar from the centre of the box on the half volley as Forest tried to get back ahead in the tie.
Forest got the third in the 110th minute when Yates got to the byline before playing it across to Wood, who tapped home from a yard out.
O’Donnell kept Pool in the tie with a massive save minutes later to deny Wood a second when he was clipped through on goal.
