Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies is excited to announce a new committee, which will drive the Club forward and provide support and experience to the girls’ youth and open-age teams.

With the national growth of women’s football being mirrored on the Fylde Coast, there will be hundreds of young Seasiders who would love the opportunity to play in the Club's famous Tangerine colours. The new committee aim to make this dream come true.

Marc Joseph, former Blackpool FC player and now Head of Early Years and Primary Schools at the Club's Community Trust, will become the new Club Chairperson, bringing plenty of experience and enthusiasm to the role.

“I am delighted to be part of the Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies Committee and honoured to be named Chairperson," he said.

"We want the girls and ladies setup to offer a fun and friendly environment while carrying a community ethos that is inclusive of all abilities. Our short-term aim is to stabilise the Club, give the new committee time to settle, and focus on the fantastic talented people we already have connected to Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies.

"As a committee, we want to create opportunities for girls to wear the Tangerine of Blackpool with pride as they strive for excellence on and off the pitch."

Craig Bailey, Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies Club Vice Chairperson said:

“We as coaches and parent representatives are delighted to be part of the new committee for Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies.

"We look forward to driving the success of the grassroots girls section forward as a committee along with the support of BFCCT and Blackpool FC.

"Since forming, it has been great to have the continued support of the football club as we collectively look to grow girls and ladies football even further.”

Blackpool FC Community Trust will be utilising a variety of full-time staff members connected to female football in various departments to ensure that Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies have the support needed to be a well-run grassroots club.

Ex-Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies player Rhiannon Davies will take the role of Club Secretary to share her knowledge of the ladies’ game and help shape opportunities for players on their footballing journey.

Ash Hackett, CEO of Blackpool FC Community Trust, will also sit on the committee in a Strategic Advisory role to assist relationships between Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies and Blackpool FC and provide synergy between the two.

Blackpool FC have once again committed to covering the cost of new playing and training kits for all of the Blackpool FC Girls junior teams, the Under 18s, Development, and the Ladies’ first team squads for the 2024/25 season.
All the junior teams have recently moved to Common Edge to play their fixtures, and the Ladies first-team have upgraded their playing facility to AFC Blackpool where they will play their home fixtures.
