Steve Bruce is keen for his Blackpool side to continue their good form in Sky Bet League One when they travel to face Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon.

The Seasiders take on the Millers this weekend, looking for their fourth win in a row following victories over Northampton Town, Bolton Wanderers and Reading in the last couple of weeks.

“Of late we’ve played well, which breeds a bit of confidence,” Bruce said.

“We’ve given ourselves a chance, but we must make sure we are ready for Saturday, which will be a different challenge to what it would have been last week after Steve (Evans) left.  There will be a bit of a bounce and good feeling about the place now and we have to guard against that.

“I think they will be a bit direct.  They will put it in our box and it’s vital we defend set pieces well.  A typical tough afternoon is in store for us on Saturday.

“You have to remember they were in the Championship last season.  Let’s hope we can get our 10th away win of the season, which would be very enjoyable.”

The Pool are currently three points adrift of the play-off places in the third tier and Bruce is not getting carried away with six games to go.

“The old cliché of taking it game by game,” he said.

“Let’s focus on Rotherham and see what we can do there.  Let’s see if we can keep the run going as it has given us a chance and at the minute that’s all it is.”

The Seasiders will be backed by around 1000 travelling Pool fans on Saturday and Bruce is hopeful his side can send them back to Blackpool in good spirits.

“We’re asking for more tickets, which can only be a good thing,” he said.

“I think the supporters are enjoying watching their team at the moment.   Let’s hope we can give them more to shout about.  Away from home we have been very good, hopefully that can continue.”
