Blackpool travel to take on Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon looking to make it three away wins in a row in Sky Bet League One
The Seasiders extended their unbeaten run to seven games last weekend, coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Nathan Jones’ Charlton Athletic.
Similarly, the Brewers also extended their unbeaten league run to five games with a draw last weekend against Barnsley at Oakwell.
Opposition In Focus:
Burton Albion came into the season with real optimism under new ownership having brought in the most players in the division, but the Brewers start to the season was far from ideal. The Brewers didn’t pick up their first three points of the new campaign until matchday 14 when they beat fellow strugglers Shrewsbury Town.
This victory actually came when the Brewers were under interim charge as Mark Robinson was relieved of his duties as Head Coach in mid-October due to a run of seven defeats in a row. It took the Brewers nearly two months to appoint Robinson’s successor as former Pool boss Gary Bowyer arrived a week before Christmas.
Bowyer has helped the Brewers pick up 13 points in his first ten games in charge, one more point than Burton accumulated in their opening 19 league games. A run of five games unbeaten, which included victories over Wigan Athletic, Rotherham United and Reading has helped Bowyer’s side get within touching distance of safety. The Brewers are in 21st place in the third tier, five points adrift from Northampton Town in 20th place. Bowyer will be hoping to get one over his former employers on Saturday to aid Burton’s hopes of staying in the division.
