Report: Blackpool 4-1 Bristol Rovers

Four different goalscorers secured all three points for the Pool in the season's final game at Bloomfield Road, with goals coming from Tom Bloxham, Albie Morgan, Niall Ennis and Ryan Finnigan.

Blackpool started well in the opening phases of the game, moving the ball well, but the visitors broke the deadlock after 18 minutes. Gatlin O’Donkor stole the ball from Harry Tyrer and slotted it away to give the Gas the lead.

However, the Pool responded well. Bloxham rocked the post after the ball fell kindly to the number 14, but he was unable to follow in with the rebound.

Blackpool got back level five minutes from the break, thanks to a poor pass out of the back from Jed Ward. Ward tried to go long with the kick, but it went low and found its way to Lee Evans, who quickly laid it off to Morgan, who played a nice through ball to Ennis. The forward got his strike away low and hard, but Ward made a fine save pushing into the path of Bloxham, who had a simple tap-in to bring the Seasiders back level.

Ten minutes into the second-half, and Blackpool would go in front. Some fine work by Elkan Baggot, who began the attack after he dribbled through Bristol Rovers players before calmly laying off to Bloxham, who delivered a fine low-driven cross which was hit home by Morgan.

Fifteen minutes before the 90, Blackpool doubled their lead. A smart through ball by substitute Ashley Fletcher saw CJ Hamilton run onto it before calmly playing across for Ennis, who made no mistake finishing past Ward.

Finnigan made it four following a goalmouth scramble. A fine bit of breakaway football by the Pool saw Fletcher play it across. Jordan Gabriel's effort was saved, but Finnigan made no mistake and made it four.
