Jerry Yates agreed a new three-year contract with Blackpool in the summer of 2021, having made an instant impact in his first season at Bloomfield Road.
Signed for an undisclosed fee from Rotherham United a year earlier, Yates became the first Pool striker since Andy Watson in the 1993/94 season to score 20 league goals in a campaign, with his overall goal tally standing at 23 in all competitions.
Voted Blackpool's Players' Player of the Year and the PFA Fans Player of the Year for the 2020/21 season, the forward helped the Seasiders to achieve promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship.
That achievement came just 12 months after securing a promotion with Swindon Town from League Two. It was that impressive loan spell with the Robins that convinced the Seasiders to sign him.
